Die illuxit haec sacra
Ab “invocando” nomine,
Quam contio fidelium
Ritu celebrat supplici.
5
In hac tuam clementiam
Udis, o Christe, fletibus
Nunc invocamus, ut preces
Clementer nostras audias.
In primis ut nos adiuves
10
Hoc sacro pronos tempore,
Quo veram paenitentiam
Agamus hoc in corpore,
Rebelle quod saepissime
Contra luctatur spiritum,
15
Erroris et per lubricam
Decurrens concidit viam.
In hoc serpens ab inferis
Instanter nos hic impetit,
Crebris impressionibus
20
Raptos et a te detrahit.
Si te Deum tentans ferox
Audebat daemon aggredi,
Quid infirmis mortalibus
Vafer mali non suggerit?
25
Victor postremo perfidus
Suis astutis artibus
Circumventos crudeliter
Arctis constringit funibus.
Hunc in deserto prodigens
30
Abire victum iusseras,
Hunc, o Redemptor, quaesumus,
A nostris pelle mentibus!
Nam nos infestat in dies,
Quaerens ubique nequiter,
35
Quem devoret; nulla quidem
Ab illo nobis est quies.
Ad te succurre transfugis
In hacque pugna sauciis
Sis turris fortitudinis!
40
Sine te nihil nam possumus.
Tuis praestamus viribus
Hunc contra mundi principem.
Cum nos iuvas, non vincimur,
Sed liberati solvimur.
45
Huius contra nequissimi
Nos tela tutos assere,
Haec divina potentia
Confringe, ne sint noxia,
Ut hoc sacro ieiunio
50
Operum bonorum fructibus
Tibi servire strenue
Sincera possimus fide! Amen.
