Dantiscus has read the copy of Giese’s letter to the King [Sigismund I Jagiellon] and himself intends to write in a similar tone. If the King intervenes with the Pope [Paul III] on the matters in question, this will at least benefit their successors.

Dantiscus does not expect to recoup the costs incurred so far, but he hopes the money will not serve the swindlers well. In his opinion, Giese should not delude himself that his letter will shame [Wojciech Kijewski].

Dantiscus will make sure the vestments of which he wrote are made according to the measurements sent, and he also offers Giese gloves and a ring. He will notify him of the date when the ceremony is to be celebrated once he reaches the cathedral [in Frauenburg (Frombork)]. Felix [Reich] and Doctor Copernicus think the cathedral will not be a good venue for the consecration, and therefore Dantiscus proposes that it take place in Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński).
