Letter #3882

[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to [Achatius TRENCK]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1539-08-09

English register:

Dantiscus expresses the wish that the addressee as a representative of the [Ermland (Warmia)] Chapter should go with him to Königsberg for the wedding of the daughter of [Melchior von Kreytzen], Master of the Duke’s [Albrecht I von Hohenzollern-Ansbach’s] court. The real purpose of the journey is not so much the wedding as a meeting and talks with the Duke.

He is sending back Valentinus. He hopes the man will get better, but doubts he will ever get wiser. He commends him to the addressee’s care.
