Letter #5757

Alfonso de VALDÉS to Ioannes DANTISCUS
s.l., [1529-04-18 — 1529-06-20?]

English register:

Valdés informs Dantiscus that after sending off Pratensis [Lodewijk van Praet] he finally has a moment’s rest. He was very amused with the epigram about Valdés transforming into Lalemand, sent by Dantiscus through Stach(?). He received it with the letter while sitting at dinner with the chancellor [Mercurino Gattinara]. Valdés sends Dantiscus the emperor’s letter. The other letter, on the matter of Bari (or maybe to the archbishop of Bari?) hasn’t been signed yet.
