Letter #111

[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to [Sigismund I Jagiellon]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark), [1543]-12-01

English register:

The city council of Gdańsk (Danzig) is sending the king a letter of recommendation from the young king [Sigismund II Augustus], concerning the acceleration of the court date set for the mayors [Barthel Brand and Tidemann Giese Jr], which is currently scheduled for the Diet of the Kingdom of Poland. Dantiscus asks for an alternative date to be set a few days prior to the opening of the Diet. He will explain the matter in more detail in a letter that the defendants will deliver to the addressee.
