Reverendissime in Christo pater et domine, domine gratiose et colende, post commendationem humilem.

Recepi heri Reverendissimae Dominationis Vestrae litteras et ipse doleo, non uno quidem nomine, quod ea de quibus admonet, tunc ignoraverim. Equidem fateor mei fuisse officii Reverendissimam Dominationem Vestram adire, ipse ea postulare, et pro gratia principi duci gratias agere. Haec quod facta non sint, morbus ille meus in causa fuit, cuius rei vel ipse princeps testis est, qui abiens lecto iacentem vale dictum reliquit, quod officium permissurus non eram, nisi crudelis iste tyrannus coegisset. Habeo autem maximas gratias Reverendissimae Dominationi Vestrae, pro ea, quam apud regiam maiestatem quocumque tandem nomine fecit intercessionem coram facturus, si dabitur, brevi maiores. Et praestitit quidem rex, quae dixit iam antea strenue, neque ullus umquam est metus, si rationi ac iuri dabitur locus. Ego nullo in malo mihi ipsi sum conscius et abunde quietus dormio, quamquam subinde invido vermi huic pro uno amputato capite tria succrescunt nova prioribus longe superinscribed in place of crossed-out iusiusee superinscribed in place of crossed-out ius peiora, ut vel sic plane graviter sit laborandum, ut emergas ubique, struuntur mihi ab his, quibus de bene meritus sum ego, insidiae et liberabit tamen ab his omnibus me Deus.
