The previous day, Dantiscus received a letter from the treasurer of the Prussian lands and Marienburg (Malbork), the father of his godchild, Stanisław Kostka of Stangenberg (Sztembark). Since Kostka has departed for Cracow, Dantiscus has nothing to write back about. However, he takes the opportunity, through the returning messenger, to send his greetings to the addressee, Kostka’s wife and the mother of his godchild [Elżbieta of Elenborg], Miss Christina, and his goddaughter.
