Letter #3901

Ioannes DANTISCUS to [Fabianus EMMERICH]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark), 1543-07-28

English register:

Dantiscus needs the addressee to draw up a notarial document. He instructs him to appear before him [at Heilsberg (Lidzbark)] on 3 August before nightfall and to bring with him the protocollum [an imbreviatura, or a draft notarial deed containing witness testimonies to a legal transaction). To facilitate his arrival, Dantiscus has ordered the starost of Braunsberg (Braniewo) [Georg von Preucken] to provide a covered wagon and to supply all that may be necessary for the journey.
