Letter #4839
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) ChapterHeilsberg (Lidzbark), 1543-01-22
English register:
From the chapter’s letter of 15 January, Dantiscus learned that the canons oppose the candidacy of the nobleman Mikołaj Loka for the Ermland (Warmia) canonry, a candidacy supported by himself, the king [Sigismund I Jagiellon], and the vice-chancellor [Samuel Maciejowski]. In this matter, he is sending to the chapter Achatius Trenck, an Ermland canon and administrator of Allenstein (Olsztyn), whom he hereby authorises and accredits with this letter.
