Letter #4849
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) ChapterHeilsberg (Lidzbark), 1546-02-23
English register:
Dantiscus is pleased to learn that the chapter has willingly inducted his nephew [Johann Hannau Jr]. He is confident that the latter will conduct himself worthily, as befits a virtuous young man.
Regarding the stipend for Samson [Worein], he has agreed with the dean [Achatius Trenck] that, if the chapter pays him 20 ducats annually, he will add another 10. He would prefer, however, that the chapter pay him 40 ducats, with him adding 20. In this way Worein would be able to support himself and be of greater service in Rome to him and to the chapter.
