Invideas teneris, admittimus, invide, Musis,
Invidia nemo doctus in orbe caret!
Inspectes tetricis oculis rugisque severis
Et mea, si possis carpere, metra legas!
5
Si quid erit, carpas, non Argi lumina mille,
Haec habui binas sed modulando faces!
Ista legant proceres, cives et contio plebis,
Non nocui, nobis tuque nocere cave!
Laesisti quondam nec adhuc desistere curas
10
Si non cessabis, scis, puto, quid faciam.
Cave!
