Absit, ut cum Reverendissima Dominatione Vestra expostulem, verum quam carae mihi litterae Reverendissimae Dominationis Vestrae sint, saltim velim dare intelligere. Absit etiam, ut mihi novitates aut omnibus, quas Reverendissima Dominatio Vestra perscribit, communicentur, nisi illis fieret, qui de ipsius farina sunt, et si mihi per eosdem nonnihil communicatur, id permolestum est nec obiurgatione caret.

Ceterum, quod memini litteris meis non esse in hoc, quod maxime cupiebam, responsum, id certe mea utique intererat. Nam agens proxime apud Reverendissimam Dominationem Vestram obtinui, ut hi[n]c pro electione ad curiam communem servit[o]ris sui declinaret. Si Reverendissima Dominatio Vestra in hac sua mente responderet, oportuit me certiorem utique esse.

Eiusdem Reverendissimae Dominationis Vestrae Leonard Niederhoff (*ca. 1485 – †1545), doctor of both canon and civil law, friend of Nicolaus Copernicus and executor of his will; studied in Cracow, Leipzig and Rome, where he obtained a doctoral degree; from 1511 parish priest of St. Bartholomew's Church in Gdańsk (Danzig); from 1515 Canon of Ermland (Warmia), and from 1519 Canon of Dorpat; from 1532 Dean of the Ermland Chapter; he also had a canonry in Kulm from which he resigned in 1533.
