Letter #3262
[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to Johann HANNAU JrHeilsberg (Lidzbark), 1547-11-18
English register:
Dantiscus has offered sufficient reply to the addressee’s news regarding Alexander [Sculteti] in the letter of 16 November, conveying what had been written to him on this matter from the court of King [Sigismund I Jagiellon]. The addressee will learn from that letter that the situation is quite different from what Alexander’s allies are circulating.
It was no trouble for Dantiscus to write to Johann von Werden regarding the matter of the house in Gdańsk (Danzig) held by the addressee and his brothers [Kaspar, Simon, Valentin]. If Werden exerts effort in this matter for Dantiscus’ sake, Dantiscus will be pleased. He assures the addressee that he will continue to assist him and his brothers.
Dantiscus does not mind that Valentin, the addressee’s brother, is looking after his health by using the services of a physician [Andreas Peltzer]. He only wishes that the physician were able to restore him to much-desired health.

Ioanni Hannovio
Venerabilis etc.
Fraternitatem Vestram bene valere cupimus.
Datae ex arce nostra Heilsberg, XVIII Novembris MDXLVII.
