Dantiscus is confident that the fabric, which the town council of Gdańsk (Danzig) was supposed to send to the addressee on behalf of the councillors of Royal Prussia, has already been despatched. He hopes that the consignment was sent in accordance with the addressee’s wishes and that the gift will be to his liking. By accepting it he will bring joy to everyone in Royal Prussia.

Dantiscus commends to the addressee the envoys [Tiedemann Giese, Johann von Baysen (Jan Bażyński), Johann von Werden, Achatius von Zehmen (Achacy Cema), Fabian von Zehmen (Cema)], sent to the diet of the Kingdom of Poland on a mission to the king [Sigismund I]. He asks the addressee to grant them support, so that they may also be heard by the young king [Sigismund Augustus] and achieve their objective. In doing so, he will be performing a favour that will be reciprocated.

Mikołaj Płotowski, the bearer of this letter, is setting out for the royal court. Although he is known to the addressee and welcomed by him, he has approached Dantiscus with a request for a recommendation. As he intends to remain at court for a longer period, Dantiscus requests that the addressee commend him to the king. Both Płotowski and Dantiscus will endeavour to reciprocate the favour shown to him.
