Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) Chapter

English register:

The canons know, from a copy of the letter from the cardinal protector [Antonio Pucci] to Dantiscus forwarded by the administrator of Allenstein (Olsztyn) [Achatius Trenck] to the custodian [of Ermland (Warmia)] [Johann Tymmermann], that the house of Alexander Sculteti, who has been proscribed as a Sacramentarian, is not the property of his harlot, whom he has allegedly married, but of Sculteti himself.

The king [Sigismund I Jagiellon] upholds his mandate of proscription, as also notified to the pope [Paul III]. Since the monarch had given the aforementioned house to Mikołaj Płotowski, the chapter has no right to interfere in the matter or to initiate proceedings on behalf of the furrier [Heinrich Braun]. The furrier’s wife and mother are subject to excommunication, as they have been proven guilty of the Sacramentarian heresy, and the furrier himself has no claim to the house, which the proscribed heretic [Sculteti] considered as his own.

Dantiscus warns the addressees that should they act otherwise, they will incur the wrath of the king.
