Letter #7267
[Ioannes DANTISCUS] & [Tiedemann GIESE] to [Sigismund I Jagiellon]Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1539-08-05
English register:
Dantiscus and Giese take the Gdańsk [Danzig] townspeople’s side in their conflict with Hieronim Żelisławski, who has been disturbing the public peace and obstructing free trade because of his personal hatreds. The Bishops ask the King [Sigismund I Jagiellon] to intervene. They want Żelisławski to resolve his conflicts through legal action, and if he refuses, he should be pursued like a criminal.
