Letter #1723

[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to Sigismund I Jagiellon
Löbau (Lubawa), 1537-09-25

English register: Dantiscus thanks the king for his appointment to the Warmia bishopric. On his own and Tiedemann Giese’s behalf, he asks the king to send letters to Rome concerning Giese’s presentation for the Chełmno bishopric and Dantiscus’ recommendation for the Warmia bishopric. Dantiscus commends the king for choosing Giese, as he is the ideal candidate for bishop.
