Letter #2776
[Ioannes DANTISCUS] & [Tiedemann GIESE] to Stanisław HOZJUSZ (HOSIUS)s.l., 1544-12-11
English register:
Dantiscus and Giese intercede on behalf of one Bartholomeus, a Pomeranian notary, relating to his claim to a piece of land which he had received thanks to their patronage by grant of the Voivode of Kulm (Chełmno) [Johann von Lusian (Jan Luzjański)]. The legal proceedings concerning this land are being delayed, and Bartholomeus is being threatened with violence should he not withdraw his complaint. The authors of the letter request that the addressee should endeavour to procure a royal mandate that will prevent any further delay of the proceedings and ensure that they run their course without impediment.
