Cupis certior fieri de concilio, dicam omnia. Sunt hic praelati fere quinquaginta, episcopos dico, nam cardinales legati sunt tres et praeter hos cardinalis Tridentinus et recens cardinalis de Iahen, quem Giennensem vocant. In dies crescit numerus, sunt fere omnes Itali, rex Galliae ante paucos dies se brevi missurum duodecim episcopos cum totidem doctoribus scripsit. In concilio haec servatur ratio: patres omnes in tres classes sunt redacti, eo quod tres cardinales sunt legati. Hae classes singulae coram singulis cardinalibus legatis conveniunt semel atque iterum in septimana, argumentum unum idemque ubique discutitur. Deinde tres legati conveniunt et totus patrum numerus etiam semel aut bis in septimana atque ibi in commune proponuntur, statuuntur, disputantur, quae ante singulatim apud sngulas classes fuerunt inquisita, et quae sic statuuntur, tandem in sessione (sic enim vocant) veluti publicantur, sic ut sessio idem fere sit, quid in imperii comitiis recessus. Paucis exponemus, quae in hodierna sessione sunt publicata. Peractis solitis caerimoniis ad sancti spiritus invocationem et gratiam obtinendam unicum sacrosancti synodi decretum fuit publicatum. Nempe quod sanctam catholicam fidem confiteatur unusquisque symbolumque apostolicum de verbo ad verbum lectum fuit, quo lecto quaesitum fuit imprimis a reverendissimis dominis cardinalibus deinde a singulis episcopis, si quid erat lectum, responderunt domini cardinales singuli singulariter per haec verba: „placet” et „ita credo” et „confiteor”. Praeter tamen haec verba quattuor episcopi fuerunt, qui schedulas proprias notario concilii exhibuerunt. Hae quid continerent, incertum est, non enim lecta fuerunt. Creditur quod praeter fidei confessionem aliud voluerunt in decreto synodali inseri, de quo in congregatione etiam fortassis obtineri non poterat. Post hoc aliam sessionem concilii futuram publicarunt ad diem Iovis proxime post dominicam Laetare futuram, quod ideo factum fuit, quoniam auditur plurimos praelatos ex diversis partibus esse venturos aut iam sese viae et itineri dedisse, quorum adventum censuit sancta synodus esse exspectandum, ut quod de haeresibus auferendis et abusibus tollendis decernendum erit. Id solidum et firmius haberi possit, quanto plurimorum praesentia et consilio tractatum et conclusum fuerit. Praeter haec duo nihil aliud factum fuit nec dictum etiam, quod a praecedentia faceret, sed omnia intermissa fuerunt, qua superioribus nostris litteris scripseramus.
