Letter #3885

Ioannes [DANTISCUS] to [PaweĊ‚ PĊOTOWSKI]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark WarmiĊ„ski), 1539-08-20

English register:

Dantiscus is happy that the addressee has been restored to good health and praises his decision to leave the regions where the plague has spread.

He expects news from the court soon. The King [Sigismund I Jagiellon] has moved the [Prussian] assembly to St. Michael’s Day [29 September], commanding the members of the Prussian Council to set a place that is safe from the plague, which will not be easy in the current situation. Dantiscus will inform the addressee of any decisions on the matter.
