Post servitutis meae in gratiam Celsitudinis Tuae officiosissimam commendationem.

Officii quidem mei erat, Reverendissime Domine, primo statim tempore eandem super conditione nepotis sui certiorem facere, necdum enim eandem scire arbitror, ubi agat et a quo instituatur, sed ex eo quo probably Kaspar Hannau (Gasparus Hannovius, Kacper Hannow) (*1519 – †1571), Dantiscus' nephew (son of Anna), doctor of both canon and civil law, friend of Marcin Kromer, Bishop of Ermland; his studies in Cracow (1536-1538), and later in Rome (1539-1548), were financed by his uncle; from 1545 Canon of Ermland (Warmia) and Dean of Guttstadt (Dobre Miasto) Collegiate Chapter; from 1547 Canon of Włocławek (ORACKI 1984, p. 84; KOPICZKO 2, p. 108-109)Casparprobably Kaspar Hannau (Gasparus Hannovius, Kacper Hannow) (*1519 – †1571), Dantiscus' nephew (son of Anna), doctor of both canon and civil law, friend of Marcin Kromer, Bishop of Ermland; his studies in Cracow (1536-1538), and later in Rome (1539-1548), were financed by his uncle; from 1545 Canon of Ermland (Warmia) and Dean of Guttstadt (Dobre Miasto) Collegiate Chapter; from 1547 Canon of Włocławek (ORACKI 1984, p. 84; KOPICZKO 2, p. 108-109) hinc abiit tempore, qui ad Celsitudinem Tuam proficisci deberet, omnino scivi neminem. Nunc tamen cum adeo commodus sese obtulisset nuntius famulus Celsitudinis Tuae, per eundem, quo in statu sint res probably Johann Hannau Jr (Johann Hannow, Ioannes Hannovius) (*ca. 1524 – †1575), nephew of Ioannes Dantiscus (son of Anna), who financed his education in Kulm; in 1541 immatriculated at the Cracow University; probably worked at the royal chancellery; 1546 Ermland canon (KOPICZKO 2, p. 108)Ioannisprobably Johann Hannau Jr (Johann Hannow, Ioannes Hannovius) (*ca. 1524 – †1575), nephew of Ioannes Dantiscus (son of Anna), who financed his education in Kulm; in 1541 immatriculated at the Cracow University; probably worked at the royal chancellery; 1546 Ermland canon (KOPICZKO 2, p. 108), eandem scire operae pretium duxi.

Egit mecum venerandus dominus doctor Stanisław Hozjusz (Stanisław Hosz, Stanislaus Hosius) (*1504 – †1579), diplomat and theologian; 1534-1538 secretary to the Bishops of Cracow Piotr Tomicki and Jan Chojeński; 1538-1549 royal secretary; 1538-1549 Canon of Ermland (Warmia) and from 1539 Cantor; 1540-1550 Canon of Cracow; 1549-1551 Bishop of Kulm (Chełmno); 1551-1579 Bishop of Ermland; in 1560 elevated to Cardinal; 1561-1563 Papal Legate to the General Council of Trent; in 1573 appointed Grand Penitentiary to Pope Gregory XIII (SBKW, p. 95-96; KOPICZKO 2, p. 129-130)HosiusStanisław Hozjusz (Stanisław Hosz, Stanislaus Hosius) (*1504 – †1579), diplomat and theologian; 1534-1538 secretary to the Bishops of Cracow Piotr Tomicki and Jan Chojeński; 1538-1549 royal secretary; 1538-1549 Canon of Ermland (Warmia) and from 1539 Cantor; 1540-1550 Canon of Cracow; 1549-1551 Bishop of Kulm (Chełmno); 1551-1579 Bishop of Ermland; in 1560 elevated to Cardinal; 1561-1563 Papal Legate to the General Council of Trent; in 1573 appointed Grand Penitentiary to Pope Gregory XIII (SBKW, p. 95-96; KOPICZKO 2, p. 129-130), ecclesiae Reverendissimae Celsitudinis Tuae cantor et canonicus una cum nepote eiusdem. Qui non ita pridem in Italy (Italia)ItaliamItaly (Italia) profectus est, ut nepotem Celsitudinis Tuae una cum aliis nobilium virorum filiis meae curae mandatis instituendum susciperem. Feci id aequissimo animo, cum, ut homini de me optime semper merito et quem a pluribus annis unice observare solitus sum, parerem, tum vero, quia Celsitudini Tuae sperabam me ea in re gratificaturum, quin gaudebam quoque mihi occasionem tam commodam oblatam, in qua Reverendissimae Celsitudini Tuae meam operam probatam iri posse confiderem, ut cui omnibus meis officiis devinctissimum me existimo, neque enim eidem minus debere me atque parentibus censeo immo quo maiorem gratiam merentur illi, qui Jesus of Nazareth (Jesus Christ), in Christianity the Messiah foretold in the Old TestamentChristoJesus of Nazareth (Jesus Christ), in Christianity the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament nos regenerant, quam qui in mundum atque lucem hanc producunt, hoc magis me quoque eidem debere profiteor, ut qui me mundo natum, Christo renasci fidem suam pro me apud eundem baptismi tempore interponendo fecerit.

Quod itaque ad me attinet, Reverendissime Domine, non est, quod Celsitudo Tua addubitet, quin omnem curam, operam studiumque meum impendam, ut adulescens is, probe ms. probi(!) probeprobe ms. probi(!) et in litterarum studiis proficiat, moribusque liberaliter instituto homine dignis praeditus evadat. Idque agam, ne quidpiam in me desiderari possit, quod mea interesse arbitrabor.

Celsitudini Tuae Reverendissimae addictissimus Thomas of Cracow Thomas CracoviensisThomas of Cracow , artium magister
