Dantiscus hopes that the addressee is pleased with the horse delivered to him via Jan Lubocki, a guard of the king [Sigismund Augustus]. He presumes that the fabric promised by the envoys [Tiedemann Giese, Johann von Baysen (Jan Bażyński), Johann von Werden, Achatius von Zehmen (Achacy Cema), and Fabian von Zehmen (Cema)] has already been delivered to him.

He has nothing further to convey, apart from the request that the addressee continue to commend him to the king.

The addressee will obtain information regarding the situation in Royal Prussia from Mikołaj Płotowski, the bearer of this letter, who asked Dantiscus to recommend him. He will also convey news about Dantiscus’ deteriorating health.

Up to this point, the addressee has supported the councillors of Royal Prussia before the king [Sigismund Augustus] regarding the province’s privileges. Now, this matter is to be presented by the envoys to the elder king [Sigismund I]. They may first approach the younger monarch to request the promised support in the form of intercession with his father. Dantiscus asks the addressee to remind the younger king of the promise he made. If he renders assistance in bringing such intercession to fruition, he will earn the lasting gratitude of the councillors of Royal Prussia.
