Ioannes DANTISCUS to [Ermland (Warmia)] chapter
Heilsberg (Lidzbark), 1545-04-03

English register:

The canons of Ermland (Warmia) are aware that the nobles of Royal Prussia have asked Dantiscus to obtain a postponement from the king [Sigismund I Jagiellon] regarding the date of the military muster. Yesterday the king’s reply arrived, a copy of which he encloses. Dantiscus believes that the chapter ought to join him in complying with its contents.

Venerabiles etc.

Non est incognitum Fraternitatibus Vestris nobiles harum terrarum nos rogasse, ut illis protractius tempus lustrationis a serenissima maiestate regia obtineremus. Qua in re heri responsum accepimus, quod in scheda est descriptum. Ad quod ut se nobiscum Fraternitates Vestrae accomodent, operae pretium censemus.
