Letter #5805
[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to Stanisław HOZJUSZ (HOSIUS)Heilsberg (Lidzbark), 1548-07-19
English register:
Johann von Loe, a late town councillor of Elbing (Elbląg) who had rendered meritorious service to the Kingdom of Poland and to the municipality, has left behind a son, a young man who strives to emulate his ways. The son has been soliciting his guardians to have him sent to the royal court. These guardians, who are part of the circle of Dantiscus’ friends, have turned to Dantiscus and asked him to recommend the young man to the addressee, so that he might take him into his service. Dantiscus complies with this request.
