Abbot Jodok KRON, Prior, Subprior, Cellarius & all the Cistercian convent in Pelplin to Ioannes DANTISCUS
Pelplin, 1542-07-12

English register: The Abbot, the Prior, the Subprior, the Steward and the whole Cistercian convent in Pelplin announce the appointment of Jodok [Kron] of Malbork as abbot. They highlight the earlier kindness of bishops of Ermland towards their convent. In view of the absence of Diocese Ordinary Łukasz [Górka], they ask Dantiscus (during his planned stay in his native Gdańsk) to lead the benediction ceremony. They promise to obtain the consent of Bishop Łukasz.
