W odpowiedzi na listy Dantyszka z 15 czerwca i 16 lipca, dotyczące porwanego w Brabancji studenta z Gdańska, De Schepper zawiadamia, że czynu tego dopuścili się Gdańszczanie, młodzieniec zaś nie został porwany w Brabancji, lecz podstępnie namówiony do udania się do Sint-Truiden, położonego w graniczących z Brabancją posiadłościach biskupa Liège. Stamtąd wywieziono go do Kolonii, udało mu się jednak ujść cało z opresji. Jeden ze sprawców, starszy syn handlarza książkami, poniósł już karę. Jego brat, gdański fałszerz, również zostanie ukarany, jeśli przybędzie pod swoim nazwiskiem do Niderlandów.
De Schepper stwierdza, że wśród ludzi podających się za kupców z Polski, Pomorza i wschodu jest wiele podejrzanych osób: apostatów, zbiegów, wygnańców i anabaptystów. Mimo to kupcy są traktowani przez mieszkańców Niderlandów z życzliwością, podobnie jak przed wojną, chociaż opowiedzieli się przeciwko cesarzowi [Charles V of Habsburg]. De Schepper ufa, że cesarz, mimo wpływu apostatów na miasta niemieckie, zrealizuje swoje zamiary.
De Schepper zapewnia, że każdy przybysz, który powoła się na Dantyszka, przekona się o jego pełnej szacunku pamięci dla przyjaciela.
Donosi, że w Niderlandach panuje spokój, choć przeciwnicy cesarza chcieliby wprowadzić tam zarzewie zagłady. Nie opisuje spraw cesarza, gdyż na jego dworze był ostatnio poseł z Polski [ Achatius von Zehmen]. Polacy, Francuzi, Anglicy i wenecjanie optują za negocjacjami pokojowymi, podczas gdy, zdaniem De Scheppera, obecnie liczą się czyny, a nie poselstwa. Nie dotarły do De Scheppera żadne wiesci o Dantyszku.
De Schepper donosi o pogłoskach, że przeciwnicy cesarza podżegają wielu władców do sprzeciwiania się cesarzowi, jednak zdławione bunty dowodzą, iż takie postępowanie nie jest bezpieczne. Szydzi z tego rodzaju pomysłów.
De Schepper zachęca Dantyszka do działań na rzecz zachowania i poprawienia dawnego obyczaju i kształtu religii chrześcijańskiej na podlegających mu terenach [Prusy Królewskie]. Ostrzega przed zgubnym wpływem sąsiadów [Prusy Książęce, Księstwo Pomorskie] w tym zakresie.
De Schepper posyła Dantyszkowi listy od przyjaciół, m.in. od biskupa Liège [Georga von Österreich]. Tłumaczy zdarzające mu się przerwy w korespondencji obowiązkami, jakie spadają na niego w niespokojnych czasach. Przesyła Dantyszkowi pozdrowienia także od swojej żony, dzieci i przyjaciół.
