Reverendissime in Christo Pater, Domine, domine pontifex mi beneficentissime.

Post eam, qua humili semper debeo, affectionis meae commendationem

Dignata est Maiestas Divina me consolare primogenito filio meo, quem baptisare nollem sine praesentia Dominationis Vestrae Reverendissimae, cupiebam profecto, ut et primogenitam filiam meam baptisaret. Sed non videbatur conveniens, ut tantus pontifex accederet ad puellam. Nunc autem, postquam Dominus meus dedit mihi iam par furturum et duos pullos columbarum, supplico humiliter Dominationi Vestrae Reverendissimae non dedignetur agere patrinum meum. Iungam illi patrinam pulcherrimam, suae virtuti et condicioni dignissimam, quam etiam et in futuro saeculo (ut aiunt) amabit, et evadet quoddam vulgare proverbium, quo dici assolet: “Qui patrinam suam non amat in hoc saeculo, in futuro crimen incurret discalceati”. Meque parentem, et omnes amicos meos, hunc quoque infantulum meum sibi in servitorem perpetuum sibi obligare et tanto magis, quo sine sua dignitate baptisari noluit. Ita sic, Reverendissime Domine, quod experientia rerum est omnium magistra, in quo primum defeceram, in ultimo supplevi, iamque ab uno discam plures. Addet mihi Dominato Vestra Reverendissima sua praesentia tantam laetitiam et iucunditatem, addet et animum, addit omnia meliora quoque, quod ego illi ita mereri studebo, ut nec magis illi valeam, nec possim.
