Reverendissime in Christo Pater et Domine, domine ac patrone gratiose et colende.

ms. Quom reg. CumQuomms. Quom reg. Cum nihil nunc scribendum occurrat, hoc saltem scribendi argumentum esse volui, quod Erasmus noster proximis mandavit litteris suis, ut Reverendissimam Dominationem Vestram illius salutarem nomine. Multa iam senex suscipit et valetudinis, et rerum incommoda, sed ea omnia huic aetati toleranda, non tollenda sunt.

Plena sunt omnia novis rebus, sed malis ferme omnibus, tumultuante mundo et in ruinam tendente. Scripsi quaedam ad principem ducem Prussiae, sed laborem evitans, exemplum unum ad fratrem misi. Iussi, ut illius exemplum Reverendissimae Dominationi Vestrae exscriptum mittat. Aliquot Pasquilli versus mitto praesentibus.

Cupio, ut feliciter diuque recte valeat, me veterem suum servitorem diligat et gratia sua prosequatur.
