Letter #1897
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Tiedemann GIESEHeilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1538-08-06
English register:
To Dantiscus’ surprise, since he considers himself to be heftier than Giese, the measurement Giese sent for the rochet is longer than for his own. Their feet are the same size. In the meantime, Dantiscus is sending a shorter rochet, and if needed will supply a longer one.

Reverendissimo Domino Tidemanno Gise, confirmato Culmensi, fratri et amico carissimo ac honoran(do) or honoran(dissimo)⌈honoran(do)honoran(do) or honoran(dissimo)⌉
Reverendissime Domine, frater et amice carissime ac honoran(de) or honoran(dissime)⌈honoran(de)honoran(de) or honoran(dissime)⌉.
Salutem fraternique paper damaged⌈[ue]ue paper damaged⌉ amoris commendationem.
Mensuram rocheti meis, quos egoque superinscribed⌈queque superinscribed⌉ fero, applicui eosque illa superat longitudine. Velim itaque me ex ea dubitatione Dominatio Vestra Reverendissima explicet.
Cui opto bonam diuturnamque valetudinem, beneficam prolixamque felicitatem.
Ex Heilsberg, VI Augusti MDXXXVIII.
Reverendissimae Dominationis Vestrae frater integerrimus Ioannes episcopus Varmiensis scripsit
