Letter #2363

Jan LEWICKI to Ioannes DANTISCUS
Lubotyń, 1540-12-10

English register:

Jan Lewicki has not heard from Dantiscus for a long time. Since neither his fellow friar nor the messenger who was to deliver a horse to the King jr. [Sigismundus II Augustus] have shown up, he is going to entrust the letter to his own messenger.

Now he takes opportunity to pass on this letter with the parish priest from Karniewo, who is finally going to appear before Dantiscus. He asks for a fair ruling on his case. If the ruling is favourable for the parish priest, he asks Dantiscus to mention the fact of his intercession.

Reverendissimo in Christo Patri, Domino, domino Ioanni Dantisco, Dei gratia episcopo ecclesiae Varmiensis, dignissimo [...] paper damaged[...][...] paper damaged fautori

BCz, 1597, p. 1151

Commendo meipsum solitae beneficentiae Paternitatis Vestrae Reverendissimae.

E Lubothin, X Decembris 1540.

Vestrae Paternitatis Reverendissimae integerrimus ille semper et affectissimus Ioannes Levicius, D(ivina) P(rovidentia) abbas Czervensis
