Letter #2525

Jodok KRON & Cistercian convent in Pelplin to Ioannes DANTISCUS
Pelplin, 1542, [shortly before August 15]

English register: The Abbot and the whole Cistercian convent in Pelplin thank Dantiscus for agreeing to give benediction to the new abbot. They inform him that Bishop Łukasz has not given his consent, announcing that he is about to return to the diocese and will perform the ceremony himself, so Dantiscus does not need to bring the pontificalia to Gdańsk. The letter entrusted to them has been taken to its destination by the steward of Sobków, Dominik Kamieński.

Reverendissimo in Christo Patri et Domino, domino Ioanni Dei gratia episcopo Varmiensi, domino et patrono modis omnibus observando

Cum animorum nostrorum propensa oboedientique voluntate salutem felicitatemque perpetuam.

Reverendissime Pater, patrone singularissime.

His diutissime Reverendissimam Paternitatem Vestram valere salvam et incolumem precamur.

Ex Polplynn, anno Partus Virginei 1542.

Eiusdem Reverendissimae Paternitatis Vestrae oboedienter dediti abbas et conventus monasterii Polplynnensis
