Letter #3884

Ioannes [DANTISCUS] to [Johann TYMMERMANN]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1539-08-18

English register:

Dantiscus will follow the advice he received from Tymmermann [on the matter of the canons’ concubines].

He encloses a copy of a letter to the [Ermland] Chapter which he sent [earlier] and to which he has not received a reply. He asks if the letter reached the Chapter.

He expresses surprise that Tymmermann did not notify him of the defection of the parish priest of the New Town of Elbing [Ambrosius Feyerobent].

He notifies the addressee of the content of the [new] letter in which he informs the Chapter that he has called on the Allenstein administrator [Achatius Trenck] to accompany him to Königsberg for the wedding [of Melchior von Kreytzen’s daughter] and for talks with the Duke [Albrecht I von Hohenzollern-Ansbach]. He declares that in future he intends to also take Tymmermann on similar journeys.
