Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1543-11-09

English register: Ioannes Dantiscus, through a servant of the Bishop of Kulm [Tiedemann Giese], sends the friars 8 Marks as alms, to be used to buy a barrel of herring to feed the friars during Advent. He asks the addressee and his fellow friars to pray for him and his deceased near and dear; he sends special greetings to the addressee’s predecessor, Friar Petrus.

Mittimus vobis in elemosinam superinscribedin elemosinamin elemosinam superinscribed per hunc reverendissimi domini Culmensis episcopi superinscribedepiscopiepiscopi superinscribed puerum consignatas marcas octo, ut vas piscium, quos alec vocant, pro instante Adventu fratribus in usum et victum fratrum habere possitis. Pro qua parva benevolentiae nostrae significatione, nihil aliud a vobis petimus, quam ut dominum Deum pro nobis, proque superinscribedqueque superinscribed ... illegible...... illegible animabus fidelibus defunctis on the marginfidelibus defunctisfidelibus defunctis on the margin, quibus nos debitores sumus, orare non desinatis.

Bene valete et superinscribedetet superinscribed praedecessorem vestrum fratrem Petrum fratresque omnes nostro more salutabitis.
