Letter #4806
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) ChapterHeilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1539-04-28
English register:
In his letter from March 5, Dantiscus recommended that the Chapter grant Rafał Konopacki (von Konopat), absent at the time, the canonry vacated by the deceased Felix Reich, on the basis of the appointment the Pope ceded to the Queen [Bona Sforza].
At present Konopacki is setting off for the Chapter, so Dantiscus once again offers his vote in favour of giving him the canonry, and also, due to Konopacki’s numerous duties in the King’s [Sigismund I Jagiellon’s] service, he asks that the Chapter relieve him of the obligation to reside in Frauenburg (Frombork).

Ioannes Dei gratia episcopus Varmiensis
Venerabiles Domini, fratres sincere dilecti.
Scripsimus Fraternitatibus Vestris quinta Martii praeteriti, ut vigore nominationis serenissimae reginali maiestati a sede apostolica concessae nobili domino Raphaeli a Canopat tunc absenti, in quem eiusmodi nominatio post mortem venerabilis olim fratris nostri domini Felicis Reich, in mense summi pontificis defuncti, dinoscitur esse translata, per consensum nostrum canonicatus et praebendae Varmiensis realis ac etiam personalis a Fraternitatibus Vestris possessio daretur.
Cumque ad eandem capiendam in praesens ipsemet ad Fraternitates Vestras se contulerit, ut idipsum suffragio nostro iterum accedente faciant eumque a residentia apud ecclesiam usu ex constitutione recepta liberent, cum multae sint causae, quae illum a serenissimae regiae maiestatis servitio abesse non sinunt, Fraternitates Vestras rogamus. In eo rem nobis impense gratam facturae.
Quae feliciter valeant.
Ex Heilsberg, XXVIII Aprilis MDXXXIX.
