Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) Chapter
Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1540-02-03

English register:

Paweł Płotowski, Provost of the Ermland (Warmia) Chapter, complained to Dantiscus that he [Alexander Sculteti] whose lifestyle renders him unworthy of the title of canon, sought to have the Ermland Chapter grant him a grange that had been in Płotowski's possession for a year. Dantiscus expresses his hope that the Chapter will not act to Płotowski’s detriment in this matter.

The Bishop further informs that he has entrusted Płotowski, in writing and under seal, with certain matters to be reported to the Chapter.

Ioannes Dei gratia episcopus Varmiensis

Venerabiles Domini, fratres sincere dilecti.

Ne itaque in eo ipsi domino praeposito fiat iniuria, a Fraternitatibus Vestris postulamus et rogamus.

Ceterum commisimus ei quaedam mentis nostrae desideria, quae scripto et sigillo manuque nostra munita dedimus Fraternitatibus Vestris referre. Cui et in iis fidem habere, seque ut fratres sinceros exhibere velint, paterne commonemus et oramus, easdem Fraternitates Vestras feliciter valere optantes.

Ex Heilsberg, III Februarii 1540.
