Reverende domine, amice tamquam frater carissime. Salutem et quicquid amicissimi obsequii praestari potest.

Sed tamen spero in domino Deo, quod iam convaluit. Rogo igitur, ut omnium primum faciat me certiorem de salute et incolumitate sua, quam his litteris invisendam duxi, significans me quoque gratia Deo recte valere. Intellexi reverendissimum dominum cardinalem, magnum cancellarium, e vivis excessisse, cuius obitus est mihi permolestissimus, utpote eius viri, cuius omne studium fuit de pace et tranquillitate componenda, et quod erat Reverendae Dominationis Vestrae amicus non vulgaris. Cuius amicitiam ipse quoque non modice ambivi. Si est possibile et Dominatio Vestra Reverenda commode facere potest, rogo plurimum, insinuet me in gratiam sacratissimae caesareae maiestatis ms. caesareaetis(!) caesareae maiestatiscaesareae maiestatis ms. caesareaetis(!) ipsaque me diligat et felicissime valeat.
