Postquam caesar huc ex Bruxellis applicuit, celebravit sollemnes et magna cum pompa sororis suae reginae Daniae exsequias. Principem filium regis et sorores eius duas accepit ad se, regi item maiorem, quam prius post mortem dominae Margaretae, benevolentiam ostendit. Ferunt etiam eum iturum in Hollandiam, inde non parvam pecuniarum summam percepturum, quam per finantiam, ut vocant, omnem in parata pecunia habere potest. Fertur etiam, quod Brabantia et Flandria in novem annis praeteritis, praeter proventus suos ordinarios, contribuerint septem milliones auri et medium; nihilominus tamen eum adhuc debere in his terris millionem unum et medium. Millio unus efficit decem centena millia ducatorum. Est igitur non admodum contentus de his, qui temporibus dominae Margaretae rexerunt, fitque clandestina de illis inquisitio; omnes enim divites facti sunt; quod si quos reos perceperit, non carebunt merita animadversione.

Nihil eum aliud moratur, quominus in Hispaniam traiciat, quam Turcarum adventus, qui si hoc anno cum adeo formidabili potentia, ut passim rumore sparsum est, non venerint, omnino traiciet, nescio quando ad has partes rediturus etc.

Alia in hac temporis angustia non restant, quam quod me humillime Serenissimae Maiestati Vestrae commendo, et rogo, reditus mei rationem clementem habeat. Omnia, quae habeo supra Maiestatis Vestrae Serenissimae provisionem, transeunt. Christus dominus noster Illam quam diutissime felicem et incolumem conservet. Amen.
