Letter #3263

[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to [Mikołaj] LOKA
Heilsberg (Lidzbark), 1547-11-18

English register:

Dantiscus is grateful for the forwarded information from the court of the king [Sigismund I Jagiellon] regarding the refusal to issue a letter of safe conduct for Alexander [Sculteti]. [Stanisław] Hozjusz (Hosius) and the vice-chancellor [Mikołaj Grabia] have already informed him of this, as the addressee may learn from Dantiscus’ previous letter to his nephew, Johann Hannau Jr. Since the addressee’s messenger also brought the same news, Dantiscus has gained more assurance in this matter.

Dantiscus thanks the addressee for sending a letter from Hozjusz enclosed with the addressee’s letter and sent via a special messenger.
