Letter #2106
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Tiedemann GIESEHeilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1539-03-12
English register:
From a letter from the Löbau (Lubawa) Town Council, Dantiscus has learned what the members of the Collegiate Chapter in Leipzig did with regard to the testament of the deceased Doctor [Christoph] Kuppener, and therefore has sent [to the Löbau Town Council] a letter received from the Margrave of Meissen [Georg of Saxony der Bärtige] together with requests to the same from the canons and the Leipzig Town Council. From this, Giese will get an idea of the situation.
Dantiscus is enclosing a copy of his letter to the Margrave and suggests that Giese write to him as well, with a more extensive explanation, so as not to waste the testament drawn up in favour [of the people of Löbau].
Dantiscus is sending Giese a letter concerning the [Royal] Prussian Council that he kept out of forgetfulness. He asks that it be sent out to the other [Council members].

Ex litteris subditorum Dominationis Vestrae Reverendissimae Lubaviensium intellexi, quibus modis testamentum olim doctoris Cupenerii a collegiatis Lipcensibus tractatur. Expedietque plurimum, si unacum meis litteris, quarum addidi exemplum, suas det etiam ad ill(ustrissimum) or ill(ustrem)⌈ill(ustrissimum)ill(ustrissimum) or ill(ustrem)⌉ dominum ducem scribatque diffusius, quo in cardine in praesens res haereat, ne boni isti magistri nostri testamentum hoc nostris relictum obliguriant etc.
Repperi inter alias cartas pauloante superinscribed⌈pauloantepauloante superinscribed⌉ litteras, quas mitto, eas postquam Dominatio Vestra Reverendissima perlegerit, cum ad consilium nostrum se referant, aliis impartiatur. Oblivione adeo diu inter alias occupationes apud me sunt detentae.
