Letter #2309

Ioannes [DANTISCUS] to [Nicolaus HUMAN]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1540-04-27

English register:

Having sent the addressee to Allenstein (Olsztyn) in order to interrogate the administrator [Achatius Trenck], Dantiscus learned that Leonard Niederhoff would also arrive there. Therefore, he instructs the addressee to swear in and interrogate Niederhoff as well, and, as in the case of other canons, to report the result of interrogation.

Dantiscus orders that the addressee should not inform anyone except the administrator of the contents of the Custos’ [Johann Tymmermann] letter. He expects this letter to be returned together with information about the administrator’s opinion on it.
