Letter #637
Cornelis DE SCHEPPER to Ioannes DANTISCUSSpeyer, 1531-06-03
English register:
De Schepper was quite unexpectedly entrusted with a mission for which he is now in Speyer. He thinks this is a good sign, given the desperate situation in which he was before. He could not meet Count Palatine Friedrich [of Wittelsbach] in Heidelberg, as he is in Bohemia. He was occupied with the case of some Brabant citizens. He does not know anything about the Turkish envoy who has arrived at the court of the Emperor [Charles V].
De Schepper will leave Speyer on June 5 for the mission that was entrusted to him. For the rest, he will see in due time. He recommends his wife [Elisabeth Donche] to Dantiscus and asks him to console her during his absence. He hopes the mission will bring him honour.

Reverendissimo in Christo Patri et Domino, domino Ioanni Dantisco episcopo Culmensi, serenissimorum regis et reginae Poloniae etc. oratori etc., domino observandissimo
Salutem.
Spyrae, III-o Iunii anno XV-c XXXI.
Eiusdem Reverendissimae Celsitudinis Vestrae humilis inservitor Cornelius Duplicius Scepperus
