Letter #4815
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) ChapterHeilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1540-09-14
English register:
Having read the letter of the Chapter to the Duke [Albrecht I von Hohenzollern-Ansbach] about the building of the mill [and thus damming Passarge (Pasłęka) river], Dantiscus wrote to the Duke in the same spirit. He attaches a copy of this letter.
He is not angry with the Chapter’s position on these [canons] who have not reached the appropriate age. However, as disregard for regulations sets a dangerous precedent for the future, he upholds his paternal admonitions/cautions.
