Letter #4815
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Ermland (Warmia) ChapterHeilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1540-09-14
English register:
Having read the Chapter's letter to the Duke [Albrecht I von Hohenzollern-Ansbach] concerning the construction of the mill [and thus damming Passarge (Pasłęka) river], Dantiscus wrote to the Duke in a similar vein. He attaches a copy of this letter.
Dantiscus expresses no anger regarding the Chapter's stance on the [canons] who have not yet reached the appropriate age. However, as disregard for regulations sets a dangerous precedent for the future, he maintains his paternal admonitions.
