Valdés reproaches Dantiscus that he didn’t share with him his joy at the Polish victory over the Wallachians, but forgets the grudge in order to congratulate him sincerely. He prays that God may grant the Poles victory over other enemies of Christianity as well.

Vellem tecum expostulare, quod me laetitiae tuae ob partam de Valachis victoriam participem efficere aut nolueris aut certe distuleris, quousque ab aliis ad me prolatum sit, in aliud tamen tempus id omittam, ne videar gaudium tuum ulla molestia contaminare voluisse. Tantum hic tibi eam victoriam gratulabor adeo ex animo, ut in hoc gaudio tibi uni et praeterea in hac aula concedam, Deumque precor, ut qui vobis de Valachis, idem de ceteris Christiani nominis hostibus sub sanctissimo et prudentissimo rege triumphare concedat.
